Dianne Kavanaugh

GED Instructor

Ms. Kavanaugh has been with the WORC program for over twenty years. As our GED instructor, she teaches the core subjects Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies. She initially assesses students’ academic strengths and weaknesses through diagnostic tests, thereby, creating individualized learning plans to help students meet their goals. Her lesson plans are tailored to different learning levels and styles and integrates test-taking strategies and problem-solving skills into her instruction.

Ms. Kavanaugh establishes a respectful and inclusive classroom environment, managing a diverse group of learners, including adults returning to school after long breaks. She ensures instructional materials are accessible and culturally relevant. Ms. Kavanaugh is both a teacher and mentor guiding all learners through academic preparation while supporting their confidence and future career or educational pathways.
