“I am 21 years old and while incarcerated at Nassau County Correctional Facility, I requested participation in the WORC Program. My request was granted by the judge as an alternative to my incarceration with the staff at WORC supporting my participation in the program.

I began attending the WORC’s GED with Mrs. Kavanagh, the GED instructor. I worked extremely hard and am proud to say I passed my GED and received my diploma. In addition to the GED classes, I received case management, computer training, referred to counseling with their onsite therapist, and participated in weekly group sessions. In group we were able to share our individual stories, receive guidance and learn coping skills. I am proud to say that while in the program they helped me gain full-time employment. WORC was a blessing in my life, and they continue to support me whenever I reach out.”
