WORC

Success Story

M.A.

“I am a 32-year-old female who came to the WORC Program after being arrested and released from the Nassau County Correctional Facility.

I met with WORC’s Case Manager and re-engaged with the program, attending on a weekly basis, and learned so much. I participated in daily computer classes which helped improve my typing skills. I also began Interactive Journaling and through the journaling sessions I learned to manage my anger and found ways to not get so upset at everything and how to remain calm during moments when I become upset.

I enjoyed the weekly women’s group where I was able to listen and learn from the other women. As they shared, I began to understand that many of the women had been in situations similar to mine, but they had learned how to grow and move past their experiences. This understanding became the turning point in my life. I am forever grateful to the WORC Program and how my life has changed for the better.”
