Youth Promotion and Support

WORC has expanded its mission-driven services to support at-risk youth and young individuals returning to the community from detention. Through a holistic, wraparound approach, WORC addresses the educational, emotional, and vocational needs of these young people to reduce recidivism and promote successful reintegration.

Our youth-focused programming includes:

  • GED Preparation Classes Assisting participants in completing their high school equivalency and building a foundation for future academic or career advancement.

  • Occupational and Vocational Training Providing hands-on training and certification opportunities in high-demand fields, including:

    • Skilled Trades Electrician, Plumbing, HVAC

    • Healthcare Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Phlebotomy, Medical Coding and Billing

    • Technology Information Technology (IT) and Cybersecurity

  • Social-Emotional Support Youth are actively engaged in Boys Circle and Girls Circle curricula, evidence-based, strengths-based group models that address:

    • Self-esteem and identity

    • Conflict resolution

    • Emotional intelligence

    • Peer relationships

    • Responsible thinking and decision-making

By combining academic preparation, career pathways, and social-emotional development, WORC empowers youth to overcome barriers, build resilience, and create a positive vision for their future.
