Services We Provide

WORC is a comprehensive program providing trauma informed care services to justice impacted women and at-risk youth and those returning to community from detention. We provide case management, educational advocacy through Legal Services of Long Island evidence-based CBI classes, GED classes, ESL classes, workforce development, and cultural engagement.

    WORC Justice & Jobs is a vocational and educational program providing workforce development, social support, and economic uplift through strategic partnerships for justice impacted women and at-risk youth through divestment from public assistance to become qualified wage earners thereby breaking cycles of incarceration and economic instability.

    S.O.S. is a grant funded initiative that provides rental assistance to individuals impacted by domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking who need to relocate or need assistance to cover their rental arrears.

    WORC Prevention of At-Risk Youth (WORC PAY)

    WORC PAY is a program designed for young people between the ages of 16-24 who are out of school and require assistance with vocational training and obtaining gainful employment. Youth must participate in financial literacy and entrepreneurship classes, career awareness and exploration, employment preparation, supportive services, leadership development, postsecondary education preparation and GED classes.

    WORC GYRL

    GYRL is a program for girls or those known as girls aged 17 years and under who are at risk of becoming detention involved. Services provided include addressing trauma, truancy, mental health, and substance use. Girls participate in the Girl Circle curriculum, financial literacy, legal literacy, and wellness classes, and cultural engagement trips.

    WORC Afterschool Academy

    WORC Afterschool Academy provides homework and tutoring assistance to children within the Town of Hempstead communities. Incorporated into the Academy is a S.T.E.M. component to introduce students to the science, math, and technology fields. This program operates Monday through Thursday from 3pm-6pm.
