Volunteer Testimonials"The WORC program is the glue that bonds female offenders to their families again. We are the well from which they drink daily. The women in our program come to us broke and feeling discouraged. We reach out and help them identify these feelings so they can be dealt with. One young lady came into the program and did not have custody of her children. One of our goals was to reunite this woman with her children. Steps were put in place to asist her in getting housing and applying for benefits. We were successful in assisting her and she regained custody of her children and completed the program."
- Ms. V "At age 47, I was arrested for a drug sale which meant I was taken from my husband and son not knowing what was going to happen to me. I was told about the WORC Program so I sent my husband over to the program and Ms. Gaines said she would see what she could do to help. Being the woman she is, she helped. She told me what was expected of me for her program and what I had to do so I was ready to get on board. School was rough at times, however I kept at it. I know I needed it for me and because I had a 6 year old son who needs my help with his work. We did groups, one on one, and at all times Ms. Gaines' door was always open if you needed to talk or some kind of help. The WORC Program helped me stay on track and till this day I'm drug free and have my loving husband and son by my side. I thank Ms. Gaines and her staff for that also. I'm a happier person today, thank God."

Participant Testimonials"The WORC program has helped me in so many ways in the past few months. I was incarerated in Nassau County Correctional Faility not being able to contact anyone. The WORC program came in and spoke with me about the program and I agreed to join a week later. I was released to the program; from that moment on I was able to meet some of the greatest women on earth, Ms. Veronica, Ms. Diane Gaines and Ms. Myra, and Ms. Holly. Through this program I will be able to receive my high school diploma along with many other acheivements. I am also enrolled in parenting classes to better myself for me and my children. I am so grateful to these women that I was blessed to have them enter my life. When I complete this program I will definitely miss the fun we had but I will graduate this program a much better person and mother. I would definitely recommend this program to any and everyone I can. I am greatly appreciative of this progam. Thanks so much."
Monique Brown "I graduated in 2013 and I'm very thankful for attending the WORC program. The program has benefitted me in many ways. It helped me to stay focused and finally prepare for my GED test. I'm proud that the WORC program gave me the chance to take it. I learned more about being healthy through the health and nutrition classes. They were very helpful and I appreciate everything about the WORC program. I was also shown plenty of love there; I couldn't have picked a better program to attend. Their doors are always open to me, no matter what."
